Looks like my host is going down for the count, the server still runs great but the Plesk license expired and I can't get anyone to talk to me about my account. Do not get an account with alphared.com anytime soon.

Is it possible to import my sites to another server with plesk installed while the old server's plesk is not allowing logins?

I do not use Plesk as I do not like their license agreements or how they operate in their system.

Yes you can move from one server to another easily as long as you have backed up your database through the control panel and your entire site via FTP without loosing anything.

Thanks, I have the data and files backed up, it's just easier to move from server to server if the control panel is accessible, much less hassle. There's many many files on those 15 sites.

Read a lot of bad stuff about alphared.
The last was I think oct 10 2008 that cwie stopped negotiations on a buy out.
Possibly the lawsuit from microsoft?

Sorry to hear that Allen, that is a lot of work to move over that many sites.

Good luck and hope you have better luck on the next provider.

I was never a plesk fan; I figure, why an extra to rent a license for an overpriced CP when Webmin/Virtualmin are free...

My one site has over 10,600 files on it to make up the site. Most of them are just the software stuff alone.

Allen you can use the migration manager within Plesk - however you would need the root username/password in order to achieve this.

You would not need the administrator username and password.

If you wish to give it a go, I can always try and move them to my Plesk server if you have these details. And then you can move them again to a new host.

Thank you Ian smile I haven't been online much yesterday/today and missed your offer.

I have the root username/pass. I didn't think about that. The biggest issue I see right now is that at 5pm today we got an email from them stating they filed chapt 7 this morning and are liquidating everything. They are beginning to turn off servers starting at 8pm tonight (tuesday) - gave us 3 hours notice :smash:

I ordered a VPS, the server was overkill. I'll see if I can transfer there shortly.

alphared, or at least the people who are dissolving them.

I did get the import done last night - took a couple hours after a hiccup or 2 with the account name, but it looks like everything is done. I just need to update DNS this morning and we should be smoove like buttah smile

I see at this time their web site is off line.

I'm glad you got your stuff off and on a new server in time.

I guess this is one good reason to have this type of a back up.

Even though I own my own servers and they are actually in my house and all that I still make constant backups.

*** Refer to the photo's posted the the gallery. It looks like a big black refrigerator with a bunch of crap mounted in it.

I kept backups, even more so since they started collapsing at the end of October. The issue was a lot of us thought they were trying to pull things together, not go through chap 7 and liquidate. It's more than a little pain to download, upload, install, etc so many sites in a short time.

I did manage to migrate everything to my new host from within plesk - 19 sites (including their databases) in about an hour thumbsup No site was down more than a couple hours including DNS changes smile

My new host - Future Host - year-end special got me a VPS w/2GB of guaranteed ram and 4k GB of bandwidth for ~$60/month - not too bad, compared to my overkill dedicated server (for my needs).
