I just moved my OS X Server from Tiger to Leopard. I have a UBB Threads forum that ran on the Tiger machine and want to have UBB Threads with the same forum running on the Leopard machine.
My approach is to install the latest UBB threads on the Leopard machine. I'm up to the point in the instructions where I have to establish a MYSQL database. We don't use MYSQL at all, so I'm lost and I'm the sysadmin so I have no one to turn to. Rather than read up on MYSQL (which I have little interest in learning) has someone done a "cookbook" of setting up MYSQL for UBB Threads on an OS X Server running Leopard? Getting MYSQL up and running is easy.... just add the service and turn it on with the OS X Server admin application. It is defining a database for UBB Threads to use where I'm lost
It was so long ago that I did this for Tiger, that I don't remember what cookbook I follwed then.
Once I have UBB threads up and running on Leopard, what is the easiest way to move the forum content from my Tiger backup files to the Leopard server running an "empty" UBB Threads? I don't have two servers running, just one. But I do have a full backup of the Tiger server.
Thanks for any help.
