7.4.2 - Threaded Mode -- System Does Not Go to First Unread Post

It appears that we have not yet gotten ourselves entirely off of the "fix one thing - break another thing" merrygoround.

I'm beginning to think there really isn't a way to fix all of the little quirks with the current threaded design. Let me tinker a bit more, we can at least fix the main ones, just not sure about the one when you flip back and forth between flat and threaded.

At least the way it now stands, we can at least identify the new posts in threaded mode. The fact that the system doesn't go to the first unread in threaded is much less an issue in threaded than it is in flat mode, primarily because the threaded reply list is much shorter and easier to see the newly posted replies. The current state is okay, if that's the best we can do.
