We have the Private Calendar box showing on our forums.
Is there a way to have it so that people can choose whether it shows or not? Thing is, many people don't use it so it is taking up space. But some people do use it and really like it, so it would be great to offer it as an option.
Thanks

Without a mod showing/hiding portal items is not possible.
The only way currently is to put such items in say the right column, and allow people to turn off this column.

I am in the process of upgrading to 7.4.1 and have enabled the "Private Calendar" option to be displayed. This is all new and I am ashamed to ask, "How does this Private Calendar" work? All I see is the box, "My Calendar" with the note, "You have no private calendar entries".
A little gentle instruction would be greatly appreciated.

When you add a event you will have the option to add it to the public or private calendar.

Basically this will show any private calendar entries you've added to the calendar. Sorta like your own reminder/event system.

So, you need to first add an entry on the Public Calendar to have anything in your Private Calendar, correct? I was hoping it was going to be like your own personal and PRIVATE calendar aside from the Public one. Will have to give it a try and see how it works. Thanks to you both for taking the time to splain this to me.

Yes but when you add a event if you select it is private it will appear in both calendars private and public. But only for that user. Anyone else viewing the public calendar does not see it.

That's perfect. Now.... I added an event, selected "Private" and it is showing on the Public Calendar for me. But my "Private Calendar" that is displayed on my right sidebar still shows as "You have no private calendar entries".
Perhaps this will be displayed on the actual date only?

Thanks.... I appreciate all the help. So many new features in this new version, especially when we are coming from 6.4.1.
