I update the "Community Introduction Body" on our board daily, changing the icon graphic and text. This option really helps keep our forum fresh.
Right now I'm running Front Page on Win XP. It is easy and quick to keep this bit of html updated. But in a few months we will be moving to Office 2007 at work.
1. I have been told that Front Page will not run alongside of Office 2007. Is this true?
2. Can anyone provide recommendations for a basic html editor (for Win XP)? Preferably free or cheap!
The rest of my websites are all Joomla based so I'm not up to date on stand alone html editors.
Thanks!

In office 2007 you have word and possibly publisher depending on the version. They both have very very basic html capabilities.

Easy, keep running FrontPage 2000 or 2003... You can run it along side Office 2007 (I've done it on a client machine).

They very first site I did I used Frontpage and I thought it was a great thing. Until I starting using Classic and all my problems started. I do on occasion boot it up for minor things but I finally got fed up with all the extra files and folders it would publish. Then make one little mistake or get one corrupted file using the extensions and BOOM,BANG,POW,ZAP it hosed up the whole site. Then it would take hours to correct.

I use notepad for everything. Its free, no extra code generated, no extra files and crap needed, and did I mention it works with everything.

TextMate on the mac, UltraEdit on the PC. Neither of which are WYSIWYG, but really good text editors.

I just use notepad or wordpad. You just have to be careful with wordpad how you save it. But for mainstream is Dreamweaver.

Thanks, all, but I want to keep WYSIWYG, so I'm glad to hear it will run next to Office 2007 on my work laptop.
I can do it in notepad (and etc.) but since tables and graphics are involved I like to see what I'm getting before moving over the code.

Depending on if your new system with Office 2007 and OP system, frontpage should work. You might need to jump through some hoops if you also upgrade to vista with a older version of frontpage.
