The ability to give users permission to hide the left and/or right columns makes a good "feature" for selling subscriptions.

However, it would be more useful if we could control the level at which they get to do this.

I'd prefer to keep both columns showing at the Forums Summary level to keep our advertisers happy. Better to be able to assign users the ability to turn off within a forum.

You could place your ads in the forum's custom island insert.

Thanks DL, but the forums summary page is like a "home page" to our advertisers. They want to be sure they are seen there, even if the user doesn't click into a particular forum or topic.

We will be selling the custom inserts as a separate product.
