We just swapped our old 6.2.x for a 7.4.x and I can't find the Mass Email tool in the admin control panel. Maybe it's a sub-tab and I'm just missing it?

What you need to do now is in the control panel select member management. Build your list even if it is all members. When the list is built at the very bottom of the page are options to do what you want such as email, delete ban, ETC.

If you just upgraded I would suggest to 7.5.2 which was released today.

Thanks for the input but selecting 15,000 users to do an email is a bit much.

Thanks for the input but selecting 15,000 users to do an email is a bit much. Not sure what you mean. You don't have to necessarily email ALL members. You can do a member search using selective criteria, and then only email that group of members.

On the other hand if you have many users in the same ISP and you generate a mass email and they detect you sending the same exact email to several users you could be marked as a spammer in that ISP's email server for life.

Just an FYI, you can set it to email them all at once, or go in batches; or export a list of users to use a 3rd party program.

No, when I sent a mass mail last weekend, they sent out in groups of 25 (thus a batch)...

Well, that's the thing, I believe it automatically ships in a batch; you don't select how many it sends per batch...
CP -> Member Management -> Search -> EMail (All Members in Search) -> Send Mail Directly
In the mail page, it also gives you the option to send messages one at a time.

so you are not using the : Send emails one at a time, instead of using BCC: option.

Correct; when you opt to NOT send them one at a time, it sends mail out in batches of 25 (I believe it's 25)

Okay. Cool Still miss the classic option though. But of course today with the email throttling crap on hosted accounts it would need to be time based (emails per minute, hour, day)
