We've just put beta 2 into the Members Area for download. While there are still a few bugs that are being worked on this fixes a wide variety of those that have been reported.

Upgrading from beta 1 is very straightforward. Just upload everything in the zip except for the includes and cache_builders/custom directories. These 2 directories contain information that is specific to your install and should never be overwritten unless an upgrade specifically asks you to do so.

I was going to say to Rick, surely you need to not upload the installs folder if it is an upgrade - or will this be where any upgrade scripts will be kept?

for note, the cache_bulders directory is required, however its sub directory of "custom" isn't

So when do we reach the final and completed stage?

In other words, will there be more beta upgrades, or is this the last one followed by the completed product?

Rick has already mentioned beta 3, so there will be at least one more version before 7.0 is complete. I think the number of betas just depends on how quickly the bugs are found and squashed.

We'll have a release candidate probably before we declare things final. Normally beta periods can last around 1-2 months for software. Given the nature of the extensive changes since 6.0 I'd say we'll have at least a couple more betas before we can get to a release candidate stage.

I can wait smile

The last thing i would want it a whole community
complaining to me about bugs,
and having to wait for a update to quite them.

I think Rick's making good prgress smile

He's had is Birthday party so there's only
christmas thats going to stop him now lol...

I had 2 months in mind when Beta 1 was released
so i guess i'm not disapointed smile

The question is can Rick Maintain this level
of upgrates, as a live system i would be over the moon.
After only having 3 upgrades with classic
in 3 years frown

Good work Rick -
Whens Beta 3 on the cards, i'm dying to move a Topic smile
