It would be great if we had the option to add a "Share It" button to the bottom of posts (like CNN articles have) where the reader could choose to "share" the post on...
StumbleUpon, del.icio.us, Digg, Twitter, FaceBook etc.
Emailing the post to a couple of friends is one thing, but posting it to the major social networks and links sites is a whole other level.
I realize we could code the options into the global footer, but it would be much better integrated into the posts thread itself. Plus, I don't think it would pick up the thread itself if the code is in a global footer.
A "Share It" admin section in the control panel where the UBB owner could choose which share sites to add would be perfect.

This is something I've had on the drawing board for some time and will definitely be in version 8.

Instead of re-inventing the wheel, why not just have integration with the AddThis.com service... They're really great, it works well, and it has anything you could actually want...

AddThis.com only ever quotes the site description and not the post

Well, the tag code is: <!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->
<a href="http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php?v=250&pub=moguai" onmouseover="return addthis_open(this, '', '[URL]', '[TITLE]')" onmouseout="addthis_close()" onclick="return addthis_sendto()"><img src="http://s7.addthis.com/static/btn/lg-addthis-en.gif" width="125" height="16" alt="Bookmark and Share" style="border:0"/></a><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js?pub=moguai"></script>
<!-- AddThis Button END --> I'd think that by changing the "title" to instead have some misc content it'd use that vs the page title... I havne't really gone through their dev doc's though, I'm sure they cover adding misc content

Scratch that, see thisExample: <script type="text/javascript">
var addthis_pub = "YOUR-ACCOUNT-ID";
var addthis_share =
{
url: 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_udqEp_YR4',
title: "Whack-A-Kitty",
content: '<object width="425" height="344"> '
+'<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Q_udqEp_YR4&hl=en&fs=1"></param>'
+'<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>'
+'<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>'
+'<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Q_udqEp_YR4&hl=en&fs=1"'
+' type="application/x-shockwave-flash"'
+' allowscriptaccess="always"'
+' allowfullscreen="true"'
+' width="425"'
+' height="344"></embed>'
+'</object>'
};
</script> Should be quite easy to adapt; have title use the post title, and have the content show the post data...

There are several items at UBBDev, such as this. You can see it in action on my "UGN Security" site in my sig.
