all my users are there according to stats but i cant search from them in admin, or see them in user lists.
All my topics are there acording to stats, and if you goto last 24 or 48 hours there still there, but if you view the forum it shows you the pages, but no topics, the whole thing is missbehavin.
Please take a look and tell me whats wrong, should i forget the beta and use and older version.
OK I managed to rid the beta of a few bugs adding compression=1 in the config.inc.php and removing the _removeme_ from the ubbimport.php and adding something to fix the incorect processing time being displyed i got from this forum.
But im still left with a major problem My Beta Forum
on the homepage if you clicklast 24 hours etc you can see topics, if you click on any of the forums you can see all the page numbers indicating lots of topics, but no topics can be seen?
Please take a look. it seems Infopop aint even looked at this forum in a couple of days, im in a hurry to get a new version of my site launched by sunday. I started upgrading the forum on monday thinking id have plenty of time for some wolfenstein gaming, instead ive been messing with mySQL, PHP, etc for 4 days. I know its a beta, but at least help me out.
Whats going on guys, I assumed you tried to install the beta on a few setups before releasing it. There nothing odd about mine, Its a well speced running IIS5.
We have installed on a few different servers and tried to catch as many bugs as possible but obviouslythat doesn't quite catch everything. Different browser/server combinations, php versions, settings etc. can always bring up new things that are being worked currently. For example, the cookie one only appears on certain browsers. Another factor is this is pretty much a total redesign/rewrite of a very large portion of the code so many bugs won't be caught until it's really put to the test by a variety of users. There are still alot of reported bugs in the system that are in the first beta, so if this is something that you are on a deadline I would highly suggest setting up the stable version.
As for the problems with the import, I'm not familiar with the ubb import script so will need a comment from another staffer on this part.

Another bug so it seems, Turning of the display of moderators does nothing, i still see the moderator columns. After looking in the config i see no variable that relates to it, so i took the variable name used for the input field, and added that in with a value of 0 but it still displays a moderator colunm.
Anyway im more concerned about the lack of topics being displayed despite the import seeming to work ok.
Also, Infopop, i think its pretty out of order of you to sell the threads upgrade with this FAQ
Can I upgrade from UBB.classic to UBB.threads software and retain my data? Can I upgrade my UBB.classicâ„¢ to a UBB.threadsâ„¢ message board, and if so will all of my data transfer with the upgrade?
Answer: Yes.
Summarized from importUBBtoUBBThreads.txt
The conversion script is kept in the UBB.threadsâ„¢ Members Area. Currently, it will support the automatic import of users, categories, forums, moderators, private messages, and messages. After each section is finished, it will prompt you to start the next section. When it imports the threads, it could take several minutes.
If you wish to track how many threads are complete, the address bar in your browser will show the count. You will need to set your forum colors/styles by either modifying a default stylesheet or creating a new one of your own. You may need to reorder your forums and categories, because they are imported by date of creation, not the order in which they appeared in your UBB.classicâ„¢ community.
And then you say that you cannot downgrade if you upgrade.
And then you say you dont support this script. WHAT!

Also, the same issue about turning off moderator display not having any effect - the column remains there.
New posts and replies show up fine, but none of the actual old threads/posts are viewable. They show up only in searches or "previous 24/28/7 links..."
Another strange issue is that the thread and post counts and last dates appear to be correct, with the exception of our busiest forum where the last post date is almost a year behind. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
I suppose we'll have to wait for the next BR to have these issues resolved. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
Just for the record, this is our web services environment:

Has anyone else here succesfully completed a clean import of UBB6 data into the UBBT beta?
For you info temple of blues ive overcome most these problems, the missing topics i only got around by goiung UBB > UBB.Threads 551 > UBB 6 beta, i had lots of problems with altertables timing out, in the end i had to reboot my server, kicking 200 people of, just so it would run. And i edited the templates to remove the moderator columns
Do you recall at what point the altertables timed out? This is a pretty big altertable and I've tried to add some steps to it to prevent this so any info on this would be appreciated.

Yeah it was the one it warns about, step 4, i have my php.ini timeout set to severel 1000 temporarily. which prevented the execution timeout error, but instead after about 3 ir 4 mins i would get a cgi timeout error.
i actually added a couple of extra echos into the script so it would start outputting to the browser quicker, and i rebooted my server kicking off all the users and got it to run, i think. i never got the line saying completed goto step 5. iinstead i got something that looked roughly lke this. im just typping this not copying but its similar
I have the exact same problem! New post showing fine, old posts are seen in the database (so import went fine) but notr displayed in the forums. Same for members. You can log in but you're not there...It's a kind of magic:-)) This all only occurs with v6 beta 2. The installation and import of UBB classic on the 5.5.1 version is no problem.
Regards,
Ron.

The import script is for 5.5.1 and 5.5.1 only. If you are trying to import into the beta it will not work. Your members will not appear, nor will your moderators. The version 6 importer will be released when version 6 is released and we are sure the MySQL tables will undergo no more changes.
