I cannot get my gallery image manager to allow more than 9.77kb
Why? Cannot for the life of me figure it out...
Any help is appreciated...
Also - I have my forums set up with a moderators area. I set the permissions so only mod, glob mods, and admin can see them and post in them.
HOWEVER... All the glob mods can see and use them, but the regular mods cannot...
I am really new to the forums thing, any help AGAIN is appreciated.
Thanks in advance! Tom

Goto Control Panel ยป Forum Permissions Select your gallery forum and submit the switch button. Then expand the "Maximum size of gallery images" There is a note in there that states "If this forum is a gallery forum, this setting dictates how large each image may be. Max size set in php.ini is XX , so you may not exceed this size."
Let us know what is in the note where I have placed the xx above And what you have entered for the group permission size.
Oh also what size are you wanting it to be.

The size says 1000M...
Not sure, I put 1000 in there, and no dice...
then I put it down to 999 and still doesn't work...
What is the 1000M ? Mega Pixel, Mega Bytes, Not Sure...
I just wanted them to be a nice size photo...
Whatever the max is I can use, I will try that for now...
Thanks for your help! Tom

Okay it looks like your php.ini is set to 1 gb or 1000MB. That would be the max you can set each group to allow a user to post Which is huge. For each group you need to type in a byte value For example 1MB = 1048576 bytes If you want to limit a user to say 1mb then you need to type 1048576 in the group field for each you want to allow . No decimal and no B,KB,MB etc.

BTW entering a 1000 in each group would round off to about 9.7KB. Which goes to the opposite extreme of very small.

Just for note, I'm sure that you'd hit the php max time limit well before even hitting anything remotely close to the upload limit lol... BTW, 1000 bytes is 0.9765625 kilobytes

Thinking the value is so large that the script in the permissions page is truncating the 1000M from 1000MB. That would be bigger than some small sites have here.

Well, for starters, the WoL island is cached, whereas the WoL page is built live as it's accessed.
Whoever is shown when the cache is built will be shown until the cache expires for the island.

So unless I set my time limits to refresh quite frequently it will not update until the page is refreshed by the user?
Am I getting this right?

well, I think when the cache is built it's built with who's been online in X timeframe (which I believe is a variable set in the control panel)

Well the time factor for this option also relies on triggers such as visitors viewing pages to help push along the cache rebuild. And how long a user is online. So if you make the timeframe very short it will change very quickly. As long as the cache is rebuilt. So they may appear to come and go. It you make it extremely long the visitor will need to be there for at least that time period to appear. It is kinda tough to set depending on how busy your site is and how long a member is there.
And giz is correct the setting in the control panel for cache is really how long a member is present. The island is rebuilt on a hard coded cache as far as I can tell.
