Rick or anyone,
I was just upgraded and having problems with members making changes to their profiles and avatars... all permissions seem to be set correctly.
1) Some members that do have avatars, but they don't show up in member profile. How do I fix?
2) I used to be member #1 and now I've been pushed down to #2 and all member numbers have been changed probably because there were a few numbers that were unused early on and they were remove (which is ok). Why was it changed, how do I fix my number?
3) In the old board on my profile you used to be able to post a profile pic there, is that feature gone or do I not have a setting correct.
Thanks for any help that can be given.

Item 1. I believe you posted this before. Goto Control Panel » Profile Settings + Avatars Tab You need to set both path settings and use the test link on that page. The test link is a big thing it writes a test file to the path. As well as filling out the rest of the info. If the users are not uploading avatars then you need to check the permission settings. Goto Control Panel » Site Permissions Expand Can specify a remote avatar Place a 1 in each group you want to allow.
Item 2 Yes you are now member 2 ,Member one is reserved for deleted members per say(Anonymous)
Item 3 If I understand this question correctly. This would be the same as a avatar today. Or are you talking about something else?
URL to your site???

This is what I get:
Directory does not exist! Test failed. Either the directory was not found or cannot be written to by the web server. (the directory is there)
===============================
These are my settings:
Administrators 1 GlobalModerators 1 Moderators 1 Users 1 Guests 0
===============================
Still don't understand why I was moved down to #2, doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
===============================
In UBB6?? there was a full size pic in the profile, but if that's been changed to an avatar, ok, but they don't all show up and I have no idea why.
Ruben I really appreciate your help!

Also if they are uploading avatars. You need to check permissions for each group at: Control Panel » Site Permissions Expand Can upload an avatar set to a 1 for each group you wish to allow.

Okay we posted at the same time. I guess you are talking about the Avatar upload now. You need to start at Control Panel » DB, Paths & URLs Select the Paths& urls tab This will give you a clue for a starting point on the two path settings. Full url will be like http://mysite.com/avatarsAbsolute path will be like /home/public_html/avatars for the Avatar Upload Storage Directory: You also may need to check your file permissions at Control Panel » Permission Checks Make sure they all are okay

Okay, So it sounds like you need to weed through several permission settings then. Lets go back to basics one at a time.
Control Panel » Permission Checks Make sure they all have a okay status.

It looks like Chief has made some progress on permission issues but there are still problems. When attempting to post a remote avatar you get a : Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /forum/ubbthreads.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Also what is really odd is even stock avatars do not appear in posts but do when viewing PM's and user profiles. I suggested to open another support ticket

Ruben, You've been a big help and I appreciate it! I've been using UBB for 6 years and I guess I've been spoiled with never having any issues whatsoever. Thanks again!

ImageMagick Settings If you have Imagemagick installed on the server and you fill in the paths below you will have the option to use Imagemagick for some of the image processing functions. ?

Your full path should be something like
/home/public_html/forum/images/avatars not /home/public_html/ubbthreads/images/avatars since you dont have a dir called ubbthreads, you have it as forum.
