Does The Public Email Address have to be a real email address that actually works?

The first email address is what is used for say registering lost password and for board messages sent via email.
This address is not displayed to the public. You can only find the email from the control panel as a admin.
The public email is for if the member wants to have their email viewed and used by others such as spiders,spam bots and other members.
So you don't even need to fill out the public email.
If you look in the user list here. Say for instance Gizmo.
You will see he has a public email address but it is kinda cryptic to keep it from spam scripts sending email to him.

I can't upload Avatars right now

I went to the option to create the database destination folder for the Avatars and an Error occurred

It said it could not create the destination folder

?

I'm not sure, but I think to upload Avatars I need to do this:

CP > Master Settings > Feature Settings

Attachments can be enabled in each forum.

(Click to test directory.)



Ok, when I click that it says:

Directory does not exist!
Test failed. Either the directory was not found or cannot be written to by the web server.

Ok the option is also here but it still does not work

to 777


it still does not work
