Do you guys know if there is a way to tell if someone is using a 'fake proxy?' [i don't know if i'm even using the terminology properly] Meaning is there a way to decipher whether an IP address is a fake or not?

I am aware, of course, that if one user is posting from multiple IP addresses it is suspicious. And that user gets a second look.

But I'm wondering if there is a more immediate way of catching someone who is hiding something? Anyone know?

We've had a trouble maker in the past who made a sport from playing games -- coming in with a fake IP address and purposely starting a fight. A troll. Then coming in again with a different IP address.

Again, i thank all of you for your help -- both before we got upgraded and now.

A legit proxy has a proxied for header. A jerk/toll that is half decent at it won't use a proxy server that leaks his identity.
