currently here in the featured member island. It does not show a avatar just text It shows ECNET ECNET If you view the url for the image the path is incorrect. https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/images//nopicture.gifNotice the double slash. This seems to have cropped up after v7.5.3??? Not sure if this was a bug or not But I see it on my site now. and I am on 7.5.4.2. It does not happen on all featured members. Any suggestions to correct it? BTW, if you select the member on the featured member island to goto view the profile then the nopicture.gif is displayed

To late, the featured member island has rebuilt and now has a member that displays correctly. Unless Rick can force ecnet to be the featured member again to see the problem.

Did you get a chance to view his profile to see if the avi is messed up there as well? I'm thinking that when he edited his avatar there was a path issue and it was fixed after he'd updated his avatar... so the "error" value was stored as the path in the db.

Like I said before if you select the featured member which takes you to the profile page the nopicture.gif displays. But not on the island. In the Island it appears as: ecnet ecnet No avatar. well at least using firefox. They keep changing so I have not had a chance to view with a different browser He does not have a custom avatar at least not on this board. And I see this quite a bit on my board also.

Yeh, same thing is happening with Zetatalk right now; his avitar is: https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/images//nopicture.gifWhich in the featured member CI shows as above, but in his profile it correctly shows the "no avitar" picture.

I looked at the CI on my 7.5.3 and it looks fine: $avatar = "{$config['FULL_URL']}/images/{$style_array['general']}/nopicture.gif"; Not sure if the 7.5.4.x looks any different (as I'm not on my desktop as I'm grounded to the futon per doctors orders I don't have my current builds handy atm)

Understood. But it is happening here at this site and only with a couple of members where the nopicture.gif will have a invalid path in the island but not in the profile.

Looks like the call for the gif is pretty much the same as 7.5.3 in the featured member script. So I can't seem to find anything really different. It seems to be just a handfull of members so I thought, something corrupted in the profile. Did not find much there either even resaved the profile and it still gets hosed.

No easy way to force one, but you could ftp and change the permissions on the cache/featured_member.php file so it can't be overwritten when a bad one shows up. That's what I'll probably need to do here.

You can change it to 644 when it's bad and then it can't be overwritten with a new one.

644 is generally a "ftp default" that wouldn't allow the server to really overwrite it.

Okay I don't understand when it is bad. But I will attempt to change the file to 644.

Maybe this needs to be a separate topic. But again on this site in the random Image Island. https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showgallery&Number=186589 the thumbnail image appears in the island but when selected the image does not appear. In fact this image was posted by Rick. I don't quite understand how a thumbnail image will appear on the island but not appear in any of the image format paths.(Thumbs,Medium,Full) It just seems to me to be a related issue.

You can change it to 644 when it's bad and then it can't be overwritten with a new one. Well I finally caught a bad featured member but when I changed cache/featured member to 644 it still was over written and changed when the cache timed out. I also tried to change it to 444 but I guess my server will not allow me that permission it just reverts to 644. So I put it back to 666.

Okay, I still see the the path issue on this site for nopicture.gif on occasion. But it seems to be more of a regular occurrence on my site. Is there some other suggestion to troubleshoot this? As far as I can tell it is the style_array value that gets hosed.
If it helps I will start adding more member names I see on this site.

I don't know how you could get side tracked. While working on a new version, While answering posts here and working on support tickets, And keep a family life. But I guess you have not figured out how to clone yourself yet! He He.

Lol, I'd be happy to be able to afford double; if i went any higher I'd have to get a new monitor stand and would probably go for the quad that has two on top of two (since I think they look better personally)

ROFLMAO... that's Rick Master of the multi-task. I see when v8 comes out how much you want to bet he has a room of monitors all the way around him on a swivel chair. Dunny

It actually gets pretty nice with multiple monitors; you can dedicate monitors for certain tasks, then use your "base" monitor as a workstation. Example, if you do a lot of "support", you can have your support desk software in one window (may it be some sort of chat, your email, a browser window with a support script open, etc). You could also slack while working by playing a movie in one window lol

A temporary fix for this until I find the root cause. You can edit cache_builders/featured_member.php. Line 57 is: Right after that, add this:
if (!$style_array['general']) $style_array['general'] = "general/default";

Okay Thanks I plugged it in. But now just need to wait for the cache to rebuild several times to see if someone pops up again. It was getting fairly regular on my site so it is now a wait and see. I don't save but the prior version that I use. But it looks like it may have happened at 7.5.3 or prior. I guess I just got to be the lucky one to notice it now.
BTW, Did you apply the temporary patch here at this site also?

So far so good with forcing the full path in the featured member script. Now if we can just fix the random image island. It kinda looks like older image posts have a different url stored in the table than they should be. Possibly back when we had the orphaned file problem. Maybe the thumb image is still there and is still in the table. In fact there is one currently posted by rose that has a image in the island but when selected the image is not there.
