Forgive me if this has already been suggested - this idea would eliminate some of that... In other forums I visit that are using vBulletin the software searches for "similar topics"... When you enter a thread title the system will search for similar threads which have already been posted. A box appears with a list (if any found) of topics that are similar. This should cut down on redundant topics which would be very valuable in my forums. As a user I like the feature because I actually do visit some of those recommended topics and commonly find what I was looking for. Just an idea.

Yep, it's been suggested, but that's ok  It's a good idea and worth repeating and this will be in version 8. Though I do need to figure out how this should actually work. Should it do an exact match for the same subject, or does it just look for other subjects that have a portion of the same keywords?

I think I want to agree with Gizmo here as an exact match would likely be too limiting. My observation on the forums that have this feature seem to include at least one or all of the keywords but are not limited to. The list of related topics has never been "too" long. It makes me very happy to hear this is going to be in version 8!
