I have a couple troublesome users who have been on my board for quite a while. We have banned them, allowed them back, but they just continue to stir the pot. It's not necessarily their viewpoint that people disagree with it's their delivery. Right now our moderator group is trying to figure out how to deal with them. Then I got this idea.
I'd like to make it so that they can see their posts, they can see each others posts, but nobody else can, even the moderators. Like they are posting in a vacuum. This is more then a joke then anything, and some may wonder is it worth the time, and it honestly almost is.
Ideas on how to implement this?
Won't you take me to Funkytown?

Well you could try creating a separate group and adding these users to it. Then enable "All new posts are moderated" for that group then go to Moderator Forum Permissions and disable "Can approve moderated posts".

I have set up special groups for a few people. Another fun way to deal with obnoxious trolls is to set their flood filter to an hour, or a day, or whatever it takes to limit their posting. It's easier than setting up a group, and annoys them just as much. It sends a clear message.

Is there any way to code the forum so that all trolls receive a weird crash error is they post more than x number of posts within a given time frame?
Either that or don't engage witht them in hope they lose interest!

Ideas on how to implement this? Yes, but it's a hack Maybe add a field to the database with some sort of status, and only people with that status get to see it. You would have to add that status field to any query that shows posts. And that would be a few I do love the idea

How about a "custom group" that's not allowed to post in any forums, who can post in a specific forum just for them that no current moderators have moderator access to and no users have access to...
Then only these "restricted" users can see it and post to it...
