Members area shows a "From PHPBB 3.x" importer currently. Notes are: Importing from phpBB 3.x
Place the phpbb_import.php script into the importers directory and bring it up in your browser. Follow the instructions to import your phpBB forum.
Special Notes
1) Passwords cannot be imported due to the different encryption methods. Your users will need to request a temporary password.
2) Polls cannot be imported.
Redirect Scripts.
Edit the $URL in index.php and put it in place of your original index.php script
Edit the $URL in viewforum.php and put it in place of your original viewforum.php script.
Edit the $URL in viewtopic.php and put it in place of your original viewtopic.php script.

I think it would be nice to be able to read the importer updates and notes from a guest point of view. It kinda sucks that a potential new user can't access this info without member access.
How are they supposed to know what works(imports) and doesn't.

The documentation on the UBB products have always sucked.
I have been for years have complained about the lack of this all around.
Perhaps they will have some sort of web presentation in the future explaining their product and its abilities or something and an actual manual like in the past when Classic was running strong.
Serious companies have serious web presentations and documentation.

A UBBWiki would be just friggen awesome IMHO... Keeping up with every type of update possible in a FAQ forum takes literally forever lol

Apparently if you import from vBulletin, there is an extra step to take to keep your attachments and uploads in tact. Not sure how that is with importing from phpBB 3.x. You might want to check that out too.

I wish we could. Just no way to do it with the encryption scheme that they use. The main thing would be is to make sure that before hand, you put up a notice for everyone to verify their email address is current, so when they request a temporary password it goes to their proper email.

i see. so, with a small procedure they will be able to request a new password and continue their postings in forums.
Thanks for clarification.
