Can anyone assist me ? I'm having problems in decompressing zip files with vista. I can view with PDf's using the older acrobat reader 5.1, but it won't allow me to view them with adobe reader 9.2 with up to date plug ins. It comes up with all the coding when I'm downloading a zip file in using win rar & end up having to delete adobe reader 9.2, so that there is no confliction with acrobat reader 5.1. What is going wrong & has anyone encountered a similar problem ? Thanks Mark

hmmm.. if you have the file to reinstall 5.1 I'd uninstall 5.1 and install 9.2 - sounds like there's a conflict.

you shouldn't have 2 versions of adobe acrobat installed
persoally, I would use Foxit PDF reader instead.
I'm also confused as to why your using acrobat with a zip file? you need winzip or winrar for zip files, I use winrar

I would like to use the more modern version of Adobe Reader 9.2, but unfortunately I couldn't open the PDF's with That using Win Rar, so I had to resort back to the old Acrobat Reader 5.1 & that's using Windows Vista in order to view the info on the ebooks - the mind boggles ............ I am still confused why you keep mentioning winrar when you are having problems with adobe? one has nothing to do with the other usually....
make sure you have completley uninstalled the old adobe, reboot, then install the new one, reboot. make sure you can open a PDF, verify that file associations for PDF are set to open with Adobe.
I personally use FoxIT PDF reader, not as bloated, free,.. can get it on betanews.com

You were spot on & I hadn't uninstalled all of the old adobe stuff & therefore, It was causing a confliction with the new reader. Everything seems to be operating fine now. Cheers Mark
