How can I have the Board rules link at the bottom of the forum go to URL like the Privacy Statement? I like being able to have more formatting for easier reading than just the text box.

hehe.. no probs..

edit the file: /templates/footer.tpl (you can do that directly in control panel, if you want)

find:


replace : {ubb url="ubb=boardrules&v=1}

with the URL to your new/improved rules.html or whatever

now keep in mind that the built in board rules also is tied in with the setting in the control panel to FORCE users to view them the next time they visit..

soooo.. THOSE board rules will show up instead of your nice perty new one, for that special case..

just an FYI...

may or may not be a big deal to you however...

I pretty much knew that was the case, I swear most people don't read them, that is why I want the easier to read formatted ones in the link.

yah, i prolly do a FORCE peeps to read board rules about 2 times per year, when it really isn't RULES that i want them to read, but basically informing them of some announcement that they prolly haven't/won't read!

so it's really more of an uber-announcement for my needs
