it's all in the install.txt and various FAQ's on this site, but CHMOD it to 777
as a general rule, directories (ONLY ones that require writing) are 777 and files within those directories would be 666..

If the one island is not working I would also suspect the other standard islands are showing a problem also.

also the <span class='adminname'... smacks of the ending TR of the who's online island..
i'd say your featured member island might be affected by another island not properly being set up..

you prolly have path issues in your setup.. go to all the settings and make sure the paths and URLs are correct i'll bet that is killing the featured member display then.. it wants to display the avatar and pukes

It says the paths is /home/sites/mysite.info/public_html
Do you think that sounds correct?

Do you think that sounds correct? Only you would know since it is not a public site. When testing on your development box. Does the path look correct compared to say a forum summary page? Or at least another feature that works.

Looks like quite a bit of debugging going on so far, so not much point in adding other guesses, since much has been tried. What I'd suggest is opening up a support ticket with the admin info so we can take a look directly at what's going on.
