We don't have an importer available at this time, however we can certainly create one. If you open up a Sales Ticket, then we can go through what's needed. We are able to write importers fairly quick, so it shouldn't take too long given the proper info.

I had replied to your ticket, at least I believe it was yours. We just need a database export of your forums in order to write an importer.

As someone that had to import IPB to phpBB and then UBB I think it is awesome that you are able to create the importers quickly now and are expanding the imports. I hope this helps a lot of people move to UBB.

Hey Grahm, make an SQLDump of the database, tar it, then place it online for Rick to download and put the URL in your ticket.
If you need help with that just let me know

Was work ever done on the IPB importer? I have a forum that I may be merging into my site. It is in IPB and it would be very helpful if I could do this easier than the last time with having to go through phpBB.

I do have it pretty much finished. I just haven't heard back from Graham yet for a real test import. Interested in testing?
/edit guess I should ask what version you are running to make sure it's compatible.

We are still in discussions at this point, so I'm not 100% positive about getting the data. Their site uses Invision Power Board v2.1.4 & my site uses threads 7.5.5. If the converter will only work on IPB 3 then I can try to get an upgrade. Either way, if I can get access to the data I'd love to help test the converter.

Things have progressed quickly and I now have a SQL backup. Please let me know what I need to do to test the importer.

We're trying to work through a couple of IP 2 importer issues and then we will be getting one out for IP 3.

currently importers available in the members area are:
yabb2_import smf_1_1_import classic_6_7_import phpbb_3_import wwwboard_import threads_6_5_import vbulletin_3_8_import phpbb_2_import fusionbb_3_import wowbb_import
But there might be others that are not published yet for us to use. Could be they are in beta testing still.

I'm not sure if it is 100% complete, but I have used the one in beta for IPB2 and successfully imported an IP board. Hopefully Jake can comment on it.

I see this is an old thread, however can you import IPB 3.4.5? We have a very large db dating back to 2002 with 400,000 posts.

I just checked the members area and I don't see a importer for IPB at all.
