I'm running 7.2.2 - if I upgrade to the latest version, will my existing skin still work?

I'd also be interested in somone performing the upgrade for me and making some minor changes to how the forums currently work. What I mean is, my existing installation has a few hacks like shout box not displayed to not logged in users and view profiles disabled.

Your existing skins/styles should still work after the upgrade. You can set permissions so that your shoutbox will not display to guests in the stock code. And you can't remove the link, but you can also disable viewing of profiles without a hack. I'm sure someone will be happy to assists.

Your style will still work, however you'll need to make adjustments to it to make it fully compatible with any additional classes added.
