Hello,

I got an email from a customer. She wanted to access our forums and got the following error message:

UBB Error We encountered a problem. The reason reported was
Database error only visible to forum administrators
Please click back to return to the previous page.

I have never been reported about this problem before.
Is it know for you guys? And do you know how to solve this?

Thanks for the help,
Lynn

Do you have SQL error logging turned on in the control panel? If so, can you take a look there to grab the actual database error?

No, I was referring to the UBB control panel. You can turn on logging of all MySQL errors relating to UBB in there.

Easy way is to edit your libs/mysql.inc.php file

Look for the line that has $showerror = 0; and change that to $showerror = 1;

Save it and that should show you the actual database error.

This works to see the actual error being thrown. Be sure to change that value back once you resolve the problem or it could be used by someone to hack into the forum later.
