I'm on the road, limited net access at the moment, but apparently the quick reply box is missing from my site, and the standard full reply box is so small you can't see what you are typing.. thoughts on cause and cure so I know where to start when I get home?

also, was trying to change the image link in my signature (on my site) and it won't show it as an image, only as a clicky link, even with tags...

nevermind, it seems that my entire config file got blown out, all my settings are blank. will have to wait till I am home to rebuild that.

apparently the server had a "hiccup" while I was editing it and it cost it to go blank, host restored the files for me.

I am having an issue with the items on the reply/post form.. almost none of them work, smileys button, font color, etc... nothing happens when you click on them, several people are reporting this. works in firefox, but not IE or Chrome. works here though in chrome.. so not sure.

Well if your config.inc.php file got hosed you may need to go through a couple of steps.
Meaning you may need to go through the cp and hit the submit button even if they look correct for each option.
Since some items are stored in the database from the config file.
So it could be the database got hosed also.
Try targeting one item and see if it corrects the problem.

the smiley and other buttons aren't related to the CP, was a java issue it seems.

I don't understand what that really means other than if config.inc.php was at 0 bytes. Then that usually means the host drive was full. Overwriting files and could have caused a problem with java also.
I would be cautious with this host.

I was editing the config file when the server went burp, and it puked out a corrupted config. restoring that solved the quick reply box and other issues, the issue with the smiley pop up on the full reply screen was related to the client side java needing an update.

Okay, Shrug!!!

I don't understand why you would need to update java if you did not change the ubb software. Unless the Host changed the version.
If it works for you. It works for me.

I would still be wary of corrupted files.
It can happen to the best of hosts so ...

ok, I rebooted, and now the popup on those menu items no longer work again...
I have no adblocking software, nothing blocking java, I'm baffled.
