In version 8, will there be an image resize function for File Manager uploaded images using ImageMagick or GD? That would be very helpful.
I limit the display of images to 640px wide in the forum for 3rd party hosted images using the 'img' tag. But on my Portal page, that limitation doesn't work. So excessively wide images force side scrolling and the right column is out of view for many users. Will version 8 include portal image display control?
Thanks!

Yes, we have it in place for avatars already, and we'll be working on getting this in for images as well (definitely for uploaded images), will be working out the best way to handle external ones.

to fix the portal, just edit 1 line of 1 file: templates/portal.tpl find: <td class="alt-1"> change to: <td class="alt-1 post_inner"> images will adhere to your 640px limit now i've mentioned this bug before

Thanks so much, Rick and Sirdude! Glad the resize is in the works. We have over 8000 images uploaded with File Manager this past year. But lots of users can't seem to figure out how to resize before upload. We could accomodate even more with ImageMagick help. Sirdude, that template change did it! Big images no longer widen the Portal to hide the right column. Nice! Happy now.

Also the image size setting on the avatars does not carry over to the featured user island in version 7.
