There are always users in your community that have no idea how to resize an image for their avatar or to fit in with other restrictions you might have.
We've tried to recommend various sites to accomplish this, but either the site was slow, or you had to worry about copyright issues with them potentially hijacking the images when uploaded.
For that reason, we've purchased a website to accomplish this, that we'll run on our servers. You are free to refer your users to this site to allow them to resize their images, and also watermark them if they wish.
