All text following special character disappear ! 7.5.5

In any post if you type a special character, all that follow it will not show at display time. This is creating issues for post where the language is french. The character is the following : ë

Seems to only happen on my board... please remove from the bug section...

seems to do it will all french characters : é è etc... anyone has an idea ??

I found the solution for my accentuated (french) characters… changed the mysql instance from multilinguism character set (utf8) to standard character set (latin1)…

what are you using for your CHARSET, first line of your french/generic.php language file?
