Maybe part of bad V7.5.6 download ? but the Who's Online island counters have not changed values since I updated to V7.5.6
Yet if I click on who's online URL to bring up that screen the counts there for guests and spiders have far different values then island does
As example at this time is same as since Saturday
Who's Online 1 registered (1 invisible), 6 Guests and 4 Spiders online.
Yet online screen shows 14 guests and 8 spiders

They will never really match due to cache times. But the island never changes is another thing. What time frame do you have the island set to?

Saw the ticket on this and replied there. Could be permissions. FTP in and wipe out everything in the cache/ directory except for the index.html file and then rebuild the cache.

Okay you may need to manually delete the cache files. It does happen to some. FTP to your site goto the cache folder delete all files except for the index htm or index.html file. Then rebuild the cache from the control panel again. The rebuild will force all the files to be re-created. Then see if it gets stuck again.

Could be, it depends on what features/islands/rss feed you have enabled. But anyway as Rick stated might want to double check the file permissions for the cache folder.

What function in CP does this as I deleted all but 2 index files and did you clear cache function but now all islands are missing ?

That would be: Control Panel ยป Clear Cache Then select submit. Again check file permissions on your cache folder

For me the cache folder is set to 777. The files should write by themselves.

Don't forget you can goto: Control Panel ยป Permission Checks It will show you if some folders and or files failed but you can't change the permissions there. Also if something shows failed you can click on it to expand to see if there is just one file that is a issue.

Okay lets start over. I think you need to double check all file permissions. GOTO; Control Panel ยป Permission Checks Make sure all shows okay.
And for my case cache builders folder is set to 777

He He you did not need to expand them to post. Now goto: Control Panel ยป Clear Cache Select the clear cache button. That should create all the island files for your site in the cache folder. If it does not then I suggest you call on Rick again with another support ticket.

Cool! The control panel will not check all of the folders but most of them. You might want to download the install documentation and double check all of the folder/file permissions for peace of mind.
