Two main issues I've run into: The following files do not exist in your install
(Make sure these are uploaded)
scripts/editnotify.inc.php
scripts/editnotify.inc.php
scripts/editnotify.inc.php
editnotify.php doesn't exist in the zip file, was introduced in 7.3 and is referenced in a number of places. The following files are reporting a wrong version #
(Make sure you updated these files)
templates/default/post_comments.tpl
post_comments.tpl doesn't exist in the zip file and was introduced in 7.2.

i just upload 2 fake (placeholder) files, then delete after the upgrade  good catch, tho

I uploaded files with the current version number and made it past also, thanks.
I also noticed on rechecking that editnotify.inc.php doesn't seem to be referenced and I'd mistakenly looked for editnotify.php earlier.

There is a bug regarding the editnotify.inc.php file.
If you right-click on the "watching" icon on the forum post list and choose the option to stop watching you get an error "scripts/editnotify.inc.php not found"
The only way to remove the watch is to click on the post to view it then choose the stop watching option on "Topic Options"
Please note, my 7.5.6 install was a fresh install not an upgrade.
