hey i have a ubb forum up here:

it's been up for years. in the last 1-2 days, suddenly it's not working properly. basically when you create a new post or add a reply, it will insert into the database, but the page halts and usually times out, but sometimes shows an internal service error

what would make this suddenly happen? i've pulled down all ads and extra css to try to pinpoint and i'm stumped right now

Shared hosting or your own server? If it's shared then I'd cotact your host and see if anything has been going on with the server. Also I'd look to see if you have any entries in your error logs about the time where you get the internal service errors.

it's a media temple grid/cloud solution... ill check out the logs, this is very strange in that nothing actually changed in the setup. in looking at the mysql logs, nothing is holding it up there, and i will take a look through the php logs too. anyone else see something like this?
