Can't seem to be able to change the size of an image to be uploaded under my gallery. It says"Images can be no larger than 488.28 KB bytes". Where can I change this option? Also what size would be best. I have looked under gallery settings but apparently I am missing something. I thought the gallery would rescale the image so that the file size did not make much difference but I guess I am wrong as usual.

Size is up to you.
But the setting is in the forum permissions.
Maximum size of gallery images
Remember that you enter in byte's
So to allow say a 1mb picture it would be like 1048576 you would enter.
Also take note of the comment above the setting:
If this forum is a gallery forum, this setting dictates how large each image may be. Max size set in php.ini is ?M, so you may not exceed this size.
You can't exceed that value unless you can edit the php.ini file

Oh Anyway it would be at:
Control Panel » Forum Permissions
Select the forum and click on the switch button.
There are also a couple of other settings for a gallery. Such as number of pictures.
The file attachment settings have nothing to do with a gallery forum. So just look for settings that have Gallery in them.
