Users are unable to upload avatars. It used to work. User goes into their profile and selects the upload avatar option and chooses the file. After Submit the option disappears (no radio buttons are selected) and the file isn't uploaded. I tested the other three options (no avatar, URL link to avatar, use stock avatar) and they all work fine. Just the upload is ignored. I tested the avatar folder setting and the folder exists and is writeable. I've run out of things to check.

just because the folder you select is writeable, doesn't make it work.

you will also have to have the avatar URL to that directory be correct as well.

i've seen where peeps are actually uploading their avatars fine to the folder, but since the URL part is wrong, they'll never work



without a link to your site and maybe even a user where it doesn't 'work', i can only guess though

Also is not the avatars directory the one that requires the test file created from the control panel "test link" to exist in the folder to work?
I seem to recall one of the features where you enter a path,required it at one time.

I FTP'd the image to the avatar directory. Used the URL option to point to the file. That works around the problem. Still would like to know why the upload won't work but am not going to waste more time on it.
