Search Types In English Please.

I'm trying to decide which search to use. . . .

Mysql Full Text (Currently set)

or

UBB.threads Internal

But how can i explain the change, advantages / disadvantages.
As members have always moaned about the search engine on the forums, where i can use it no probs.

Advice please

Put in an option to use the old style forum search. Full-text searching will probably be faster on larger forums, however this gives the option to search for shorter words or words that might be ignored using Full-text searching.

For me this was a issue because internal allows me to search for numeric strings. Full text does not.
My site uses things such as 680.156.4 in posts.
Full does not work for that.
Shorter words means you mysql has a minimum number of characters to enter where internal will let you search for less.

full text won't search less than the mysql minimum characters (usually 3-4)

Haaa looks like i will leave it as is as i like to think i have a large (er) forum than small.

Saying that since i started to use the MYSQL FUll Text members haven't complained thinking about it.
