Does anyone know how to fix CAPTCHA? I have an existing site that works seamlessly. Anonymous posters have no problem seeing captcha images, www.calledstrikethree.comI started a new site, www.endlesshockey.com and the CAPTCHA appears as a red X. When an anonymous user clicks on the red X they see a spinning icon on the left and then NOTHING. Every so often the images will appear. This is making it impossible to have users post anonymously, which is a feature that I really need due to the nature of the forums that I run. Any suggestions? Again, "sometimes" it works, but usually it doesn't. Also, at times just that broken image icon comes up instead of the red X.

I'd check the cache directory and make sure it's writeable; then delete everything in it with the exception of the index.html file and see if that fixes it.
If that doesn't work, I'd try it with the sessions folder as well.

GD seems to be working fine; it doesn't appear that ImageMagick is configured. Make sure that you have GD set as the image processor that you want the captcha to generate.

You lost me a bit. What is GD, and where do I find it? What is ImageMagick and where do I find it and how do I configure it? This site is new out of the box. Rick set it up.

GD and ImageMagick are the image processors, the Captcha uses one of the to make the image. GD comes with PHP (usually) and ImageMagick must be downloaded and configured on the server; most users use GD as it's usually just *there*.
I didn't see captcha configured for registrations, are you using it for guest posting? If you enable it, just make sure that you have it setup to use GD and it should work.
