How long does it take to go through and how do you make sure its going to the right email address?

How long is up to the hosting site for the email server.
To check for the email address that would be your selectable option.

Goto:
My Stuff>Edit Preferences
Scroll all the way to the bottom.
You will find,
Moderator & Administrator Preferences

Select the options you want.
Hit the submit button
