Well I just upgraded from 7.5.3 to 7.5.4.2 and I lost a couple of the Custom Fields from my registration screen. If I look in my database I can see the information but have no clue as to how to restore it.

Any ideas? Is it possible to fix this?

Well, you likely overwrote the language files in the upgrade; should be as simple as re-naming the custom fields in the registration settings.

Renaming them worked and that was the reminder I needed. I forgot what two of them were so the two I was naming were shoeing the wrong data. Now, as far as the language files go, could you restore the original file, what affect would this have if any and what other problems might I encounter?

Thanx Gizmo for saving me again! You need a Donate button in your sig. cool

:snicker: my sites have donation buttons :ahem:

Umm, updating language files is always a plus, they contain new strings in new versions; I believe if you just don't upload them (and they're chmodded 666) the upgrade script will just try to patch the files with new lines.

Interesting. Long story short I must have done something wrong like using the wrong files to upload or the wrong database backup. I reloaded my original forum and database, uploaded my new files and reran the upgrade script. It's all good now.

And yes, I did update my language files.
