So I am trying to "up" my Upload Max File Size from 2mb to 50mb

-Godaddy sent me the following instructions. (Pix 1)

-I went to the server (Pic 2) and I can see the php.ini file that they reference.

-However, when I open it with Notepad. (pix 3) I do not see the Upload_Max_Filesize = 2 MB ????

-Question: Am I looking at the correct file? Is there another php.ini file buried in the tree?

Thoughts??

if you go to your ubb threads control panel

click on "PHP Info" ( left side )

you will see which php.ini file is being loaded there

then edit that one

With godaddy I believe you have to add those variables to your php.ini file. If it's not defined in yours it refers to the master one set for the server.

also, i wouldn't be editing with notepad ( dos mode )

you want to keep the crlf's in there, so use an editor that preserves them.

notepad++ is free

Ok. I found the php info (see pic below) However, I did not find that path above(see pic 1) or in any of the folders. So I will keep looking for this over the weekend.

I will download and use notepad++ thanks for the heads-up.

Well you did find it already.

Below is the Absolute PATH path to your site
/home/content/e/a/s/easyforum/html/php.ini
Your ftp program is looking at the /html/php.ini part of the path already.
Just add the values to the php.ini file.

Ok. I get it.

So based on what gliderdad said. I am going to have to add some type of script to (See pix 3) to get this to work. Another call to godaddy. :-/

Picture 3 is the php.ini file to add the
upload_max_filezile=50

You also will need to add the post_max_size=50
or higher if you allow say 2 files then it would need to be 100.

No script to run.

But you will need to restart your server as instructed.

It may be in your server control panel provided by your host.
