I would like to build a polling / survey website where I can create polls, and users can create polls, and they can immediately see the results of the poll after "voting," and there can be a main page where all the current polls are listed, and users can sort the viewing of the polls by date, page views, number of responses, etc. Also, I would like for each poll in the site to have a comments area where users can comment on the poll results, and be notified of others' follow up comments, as well, by email.
The site would be similar to a forum in that users can create and drive the content, except it wouldn’t be centered around discussion like a forum is, it would be centered upon creating, viewing, participating in, and discussing, various polls. It would also allow different ways to search and organize the polls so that when lots of polls have been created (hundreds) users can easily access the kind of poll they want to see. This would require a search feature, and various sorting features.
There would also need to be a moderator feature so that administrators could make sure that people are not creating low quality polls, duplicate polls, or other inappropriate material.
Poll results should be public and accessible to all, even non-registered guests. Poll results should be able to be displayed in various formats, including pie charts, bar graphs, etc.
The purpose would be a place for people with certain diseases and health conditions to come to share which treatments have worked for them, and also to read about which treatments are working for other people. I would like the site to be dynamic and database-driven with "modules" or sidebars that can contain google ads and other announcements or advertisements.
