I'm having trouble getting the "Attachment Storage Directory" correct. No matter what I select I keep getting a error not found. What path should go there? The domain name is propetphotoforum.com. It is pointed to a sub directory called forms.
Also what will go in "Full URL to Attachment Storage Directory"?
I have searched everywhere for this'
Thanks in advance.

When I use this format in the 'Attchment Storage Directory" it places the uploaded file in a 'Temp" directory.

Hope this helps.

Here's what I use:

Attachment Storage Directory: /home/mysite/public_html/forums/attachments

Full URL to Attachment Storage Directory: http://www.mysite.com/forums/attachments

In CP > Feature Settings > Attachments there is a link to check that the directory you specify works correctly.

On the server side (FTP) enter your forum directory and, in your case, create a new directory called uploads the CHMOD it to 777.

Create the destination folder first.
to get a hint on the path goto:
Control Panel ยป DB, Paths & URLs
Look at what you have for:
Absolute PATH to Main Directory:
modify that path to where you want to upload them to.

And place that in the
Attachment Storage Directory:
Don't forget to click on the test link.

Then add your url to the folder in:
Full URL to Attachment Storage Directory:
Depending on where your attachments are to be
should be like
http://propetphotoforum.com/attachments

Or submit a support ticket like Brooks posted.

Thanks all. Brooks got it working last night, so a special thanks to him.
The only problem left is when I attach a file to a post I can only get a gif file to show in the post. All file types just show the file name. You can click on the file name and the file will download.
The settings in "Allowed Attachment File Extensions" have the format set correctly.
Any suggestions?

You have to set the inline file size. Go to General Settings, than Topic Display Options and set a value in

Max Size for inline uploaded images
If an image is attached to the post, if it is smaller than the specified size (in bytes) it will be displayed in the post.
