I just restored my server as I updated the OS. I loaded up the backup up came ubbthreads, but so many things were not updating. Anyway ran the permission check, the backup restored 777 directories only as 755.
Fixed this but still issues, hence I found this bug.
I see /templates/default is checked in permission checks, but /templates/compile is not. I only found this as after I deleted the contents as these timestamped with the stoppage of the updates the board came up with error it must be writable, hence 777.
I set it to 777 and board returned.
I have filed this bug as /templates/compile must be checked.
I also think it needs a complete revamp and make sure that everything that needs 777 is included. I still have some issues I am chasing that I am sure is linked to not testing all the directories that are needed.
