How do I have a left side column that I can post images/pics in?

Well probably the easy way would be to create a gallery forum.
Then create a Gallery island that shows in the left column.
You could look at our new site at UBBwiki.com for hints.
Still under construction but most of what you want should be there.

Here is what I did tying to get one of our sponsors logo in the custom island, and of course it doesn't show up.
