Is there a way to exclude a certain forum's posts from appearing in Active Topics?

should be like control panel>>Post Islands.
Select the island in question and deselect the forums.

You can't exclude just a topic in a allowed forum to post to the island.

Btw, When you make the change you probably will need to use the rebuilders and clear cache in the cp. Unless you just wait for more new posts.
