Has anyone rebuilt the topics on a large board (over 250k posts)? How long did it take? What sort of censor filters did you have in place, simple or pretty big? I know server hardware has an impact on this I just wanted to get a general idea, whether we are talking 15 minutes or several hours. TIA
Won't you take me to Funkytown?

Def not 15 min, I don't remember if I did a rebuild of posts or topics but it took a while, maybe a few hours with decent size censor. Def not a process to stop in the middle of, need to let it finish.

Really, I'm just looking for another reason to buy an SSD. Thanks for the feedback, gliderdad.

I know some people have been switching to SSD for home servers but just for the OS drive. I think the vote is still out on how reliable it is to keep re-writing to that type of drive. Besides being very costly. Well up until the sata drive prices went through the roof.

I don't think ssd are ready on servers yet, I read they have set lifetime. I went for a hybrid one for my laptop.
The reason I asked if he meant for server is I have feeling he may be wanting an ssd for home computer and that it would help with time frame on rebuilding the posts. Its a server side script and runs through browser so depends on server hardware and network connection and not home computer.
Now if you did the rebuild locally than uploaded to server that would be different story, lol.
