Hi, Am I to assume that this email is incorrect given that I purchased V8 and it is not out yet? I have no problem paying for the forum service...I just was surprised when I got the email and I was not even thinking that I was really on the clock given that the purpose of this purchase was UBB 8. Hello james This is just a reminder that your Members Area access for your UBB License will be expiring soon. You can renew your access at https://www.ubbcentral.com to retain your access. Bump. Don't have a clue on this issue. I guess Brooks needs to respond and this post was over looked.

I believe Brooks is the onlyone with access to the licensing system, let alone upholding ricks promise about everyone who was current at 7.5.5 would get v8 daisy'd in...

Was it ever mentioned that those of us with Lifetime access would be honoured or will that change?

Was it ever mentioned that those of us with Lifetime access would be honoured or will that change? Well, I'd hope those of us with lifetime licenses will be honored, otherwise a lot of people will be jumping ship reguardless of updates or not... I don't see lifetime users having an issue though; it's Ricks "promise" of v8 being released "soon" over the span of a year and users access expiring that I see a possible issue with...

Lifetime licenses have been and will be honored, all others need to have current support if they would like access to upgrades.
thanks!

Lifetime licenses have been and will be honored, all others need to have current support if they would like access to upgrades. so this means you are not honoring ricks promise regarding people who renewed support membership that they would get version 8?

Well, I re-upped my license for two reasons.
One, Rick was donating all the proceeds for the month to the employee's widow that month.
Two, there was supposed to be a carry over of current licenses to v8 because development had taken longer then expected.
I know the company changed hands and really doesn't have a legal obligation to uphold what the previous owner had agreed to. But if they don't know is just as good a time to jump the ship as any. Poor business ethics have ruined more then one company and I'd hate to see this be the start of the end of UBB.

That is really unacceptable. The only reason why we made the purchase of 7.5 was because we were told that 8.0 would be out in a matter of months and that we would be given the update. It is my loyalty to UBB Threads that kept us here as opposed to moving to a different forum software (such as VBulletin).
While I understand that UBB Threads is under new ownership, it was not Rick who promised the upgrade. It was a promise from the company.

Actually KuKuKachu it wasn't silence from what I saw, it was more the answer was already posted by UBBSYSTEMS. They just didn't re-mention it a second time.

I know the company changed hands and really doesn't have a legal obligation to uphold what the previous owner had agreed to. well, yes, it does, actually. in buying a business you cannot just assume the assets and not the liabilities. if the new owner has some disclaimer on certain liabilities then he/she/it should reveal this. this would allow a class action against Rick rather than the new owner.

Yeah, you'd think someone would either come clean and honor the commit that was made to the customers or man up and come say no we are not going to honor the commit.

I will review what Rick promised, but even so, version 8 is not due out for a while.
