I have a unique problem in that I have two administrator profiles: 1. The Original which is named "Admin_dup1" and which has accumulated info from 2003 to mid 2010; 2. The second profile was created (I think) by someone at Mindraven tech help who helped me solve a problem. This second profile is named "Admin" and has info from mid 2010 to the present.

I would like to keep the original administrators profile (Admin_dup1) and move the date/info from the second profile (Admin) to it.

Is there a way to do this?

Also I was thinking of merging the profiles in the Edit profile section of the Control Panel, but can not find documentation on doing this. There is a reference in the Administration Guide to "Editing a User's Profile" but I can not locate this info. I don't want to merge something and not know what's going where.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

If you go into the second Admin profile, click edit profile and you will see a tab along the bottom that says merge. Click that and you will see


Enter the User ID of the user you want to merge this user into. Warning: Merging a user with another cannot be undone.

Enter the user id of Admin_dup1, and click merge. You can always create a test account and try it out first before you do the admins so you feel comfortable and see the results first.

The only problem is that the profile I want to merge into and again assume is "Admin_dup1". According to your suggestion I would have to open the "Admin" profile and go to the Merge User tab which does not exist for that profile (supposedly since it is the main administrator's profile). In other words, I can merge "Admin_dup1" into "Admin", but not "Admin" into "Admin_dup1".

[Also, is there any written documentation on merging users? I couldn't find it anywhere.]

I was not aware of a issue with the admin account though.
Makes sense if it is member 2. There are a lot of existing exceptions for the default super admin.

You know, the merge function is one that I never remember the process to... I never remember if it needs to be done from the source or destination user lol...

I am not so sure how it works with admins,but for all others you open the first member.
There is some prompt to tell you what is going to happen and it is correct.
So as I recall the first person you open is the one that is going to merge to the second one.
The second one is the one you wish to keep.
