My preferred style is Black_and_gold_(hi_res). Thanks!

Yet, I've had a longstanding problem when using that style...

In this forum, as I am writing this post... When I press the leftmost button immediately above the box that I am writing this BUG report in, there is only one smilie that does not show up as it should, BUT...

In another forum I find, since years back, that none of the smilies show up when I press that button. Neither do any smilies show up in any of the posts when using that Black_and_gold_(hi_res) style.

Why is that? What's necessary to have that fixed?

Please see also my attached file and/or the thread I initiated not quite three years ago in that forum re that bug. (I don't know for sure whether that thread is open to guests, but, if it is, you'll realize the problem [being identified in that thread] by changing between the available styles at the bottom of that linked web page...

I am looking forwards to learning what the resolution to this problem is...

Thanks in advance!

When in black and gold here I see what your saying. The image default_dark/facepalm.gif is missing. When uploading an image it uploads to the default directory and one needs to manually ftp the image to the default_dark directory too. In the style setting under Names, Images & Wrappers there is settings on which directory to use for all the different images, default or default_dark

That is one of the quirks of using different styles.
Since you can have different color schemes you can also have different smileys with different background colors per say.

In the style editor it is called Graemlin Images
Under Name, Images & Wrapper
So say you are using the gold style.
But you upload a smiley to actually the stock folder.
You will need to upload it again to the folder you use for the gold style.
So you could end up with duplicate identical images on your site.

So with that said your missing smiley is probably in the specified folder for the style it appears but not in the gold style folder specified in your style.

Also you have something different with your winter style election.
As a guest I can elect one of several styles at the footer to display.
If I elect the winter style the election is gone to switch back to default.

Thanks Gliderdad and Ruben!

It is great to know what the solution is. It remains to be seen whether or not the webmaster of that other forum will be willing and able to implement the light you've now so graciously provided...

I wonder who will be first, the webmaster of this forum [re facepalm ] or the webmaster of that forum [re 92 different smilies] ???

wink

What is puzzling, and I suspect this is a bug in UBBthreads, is that he was able to post in a closed forum..

Congratulations Stan!

And thanks ever so much for making all of those 92 smilies available to all of us who prefer this beautiful Black_and_gold_(hi_res) style!

- Not to mention that you opened up that one forum that was previously locked to me!

- Thanks for being you and for doing what you do!

May the peace of the Lord of Hosts rest on each our families and homes forever,

Thanks Gliderdad! And thanks Ruben!

You were all too quick for me to fix all of those smilies... I can't tell facepalm who was first, Stan in his forums or you in yours???

But no matter, the joy is there for all of us to share!

Thanks again!
