One of the guys at work did the upgrade. He asked for some help and I realised he was not running upgrade.php via the browser. We then ran it through the browser and it got through to the end successfully.
Unfortunately we can now no longer log in. The log in page simply re-appears after we enter our credentials (and also tells us that the board is closed). Even more unfortunately, somehow the backup of the previous UBB folder (under Inetpub) lost most of its contents - so we cannot revert back to that. I tried to run upgrade.php again but it advised that the upgrade was already done.
The database looks ok (the user table still has the administrator user accounts).
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks, Paul

Try purging the contents of the cache folder, sessions folder, and the templates/compile folder (the index files should remain)
Then login and clear the cache

What you really should do is revert to a backup and start over to be safe. Unless you want to pay for the error.
If you went from 7.5.6 to 7.5.7 then there should not be a change to the database tables. If you had access to the new version then you have access to the older versions in the members area.

I found a database backup prior to the upgrade and reverted back to 7.5.3P. Looks like the revert worked ok. I then upgraded again to 7.5.7. Seemed to work ok until I logged out. Then I could not log in. An "Access Denied" response appears. http://www.paritech.com.au/forums/I discovered that the following URL works: http://www.paritech.com.au/forums/ubbthreads.php/however this one does not work (note the missing trailing forward slash): http://www.paritech.com.au/forums/ubbthreads.phpWhen I upgraded, I fixed up my folder permissions after upgrading. Could this have been the problem? Should I try the upgrade again? Running on Windows 2003 Any help appreciated. Thanks, Paul

Paul, I don't have a clue but I did notice that using index.php at the end of your url does nothing. It should have run ubb normally. It might be time to double check all file folders permissions as if this was a new install, before you upgrade again. I know you are using windows so you may be limited to relying on your host to do that. Then follow the upgrade directions again.
