Hi all. Several of our members are getting this error 403 Permission Denied
You do not have permission for this request /ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php Followup: weird, I've had no issues posting until just now and I'm getting the same message - have tried using Google Chrome, Firefox Mozilla and Internet Explorer and same on all of the... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't see anything under View SQL Errors for 2013.

web error logs from your web server, this has nothing to do with mysql.

Just to be clear.
Gizmo is talking about using your web host control panel, Not a ubb control panel.
For example if you are using cpanel.
Then in the logs section will be a error log to select and view.

Actually, I'm not referencing any control panel specifically; I'm stating however you can view your web server error logs is how you'll have to do it... I do it via SSH.

One of our members found a clue to the 403 errors and it's a weird one: The word "Methyl pred nisone" seems to be a verboten word here.
when its all written together.
Same for pred nisone.
I'm good if i break it up, but when i try to write the word pred-nisone all together, the site forbids it.
i figured it out because the site just wouldn't let me write the one paragraph.
So i thought maybe it didn't like certain words, so i played around with those words and then it worked.
i wonder if there are other verboten words people are using that the site is denying?
we all know that steroids have their evil side, but never would have guessed that it was so evil that we could not speak it! ha ha!
I'm just happy to have cracked the code! There's nothing in the banned words list or anywhere else I can find where this can be searched or even analyzed. Perhaps you can see where we have to go? Thanks!

If it was a 406 error I'd say it's likely keyword matching against mod_security which is a webserver security module that can be quite overzealous at times.

Definitely 403 error. I just typed the word prednisone in a test reply and got this: 403 Permission Denied

Maybe they changed the error type; because that sounds like mod_security... Email your webhost and see if it's installed on the server

You are exactly correct. They have a huge list of words that will produce the 403 and our site uses a lot of them as we're health-oriented. We have it fixed now. Thanks for your help!
