I'm having to post this from my phone, because I can't stay logged in with the laptop. Is anything ever going to be done about this well known problem? I know that I have lost members because of it, and it is obvious how frustrating it is to people. When I lose members, it affects me financially. Maybe it's time, after over ten years of loyalty, to finally give up and move. I don't see any evidence of interest in our problems from anyone in a position to do something about it.
My primary site has 32,000 members, and 2.6 million posts. Is that the sort of site that UBB wants to lose?

I agree. It seems to be a on again off again issue that is addressed but never fixed.

By the way, I appreciate all of the help that has been coming from Ruben and James.

By the way, I appreciate all of the help that has been coming from Ruben and James. Not a problem, just keep in mind Staff vs Volunteer; you'd think it'd be the staff would be here all the time, yet it's constantly the volunteers lol... I stop in during coding/data entry breaks throughout the day; have a big coding project that I've been working on

Hi Steve, I don't see a ticket in the system for this issue from you....

Are you unaware of this very common complaint/problem? Numerous posts have been made here on UBBCentral about it, by many people from many sites. Your staff of volunteers is well aware of it.
As far as the issue that I was having when I made this post... I was unable to stay logged in on UBBCentral. I don't think it would be appropriate for me to submit a ticket for someone else's site.

Steve, I think Brooks missed the point that your access issue was directed at this site for this current post? He probably assumed you were talking about your site only. Same issue I agree though.

seemed like he was referring to his board.... been a really hard issue to track down, some people who had the issue were able to stay logged in by not checking, keep me logged in. It's not as widespread as you would think, we have no support tickets for it...

I suspect it is a multiple tab issue. I dont use IE anymore if that is the browser being used. Personally I use chrome and ive not experienced any log out issues. If I had +8 tabs in older versions of firefox strange things would happen and being logged out was one of them.
Either way it needs to be resolved for the greater good and peace of mind.

I read something about how IE doesn't like hugely fictitious numbers in regards to expiration times...

interesting, so reducing the cookie expiration time might help? I read something about how IE doesn't like hugely fictitious numbers in regards to expiration times...

I figure it couldn't hurt to try and find users who're having the issue (or try to replicate it) and drop the "remember me" time frame down to say a month...
Think about it, it "works" for them when they don't mark "remember me", so it kind of makes sense that it could be the issue...
